In August 2021, I was approached by distillery owner, Greg Taylor, with the task to establish a social media presence and tell the Hayner Distilling story through product photography and sharing local history on Instagram and Facebook.
"155 years ago Lewis Hayner opened a small distillery on the banks of the Miami River in Troy, Ohio. Hayner Distilling grew into one of the largest distilleries in Ohio and the largest mail order whiskey business in America. Known for their superior Bourbon and Ryes, Hayner was shipped directly to doorsteps all across America. Like all distilleries, Hayner Distilling closed in 1920 with prohibition. 100 years later, Hayner Distilling has been reborn! From a few surviving bottles we analyzed the original whiskey and working with Bardstown Bourbon Company created a blend complementary to the original Hayner."

Hayner Distilling began with just shy of 200 followers on Instagram in August and has grown to over 1,000 followers to this day. By consistent posting and story-telling through creative copy, we have been able to grow our local audience and expand product line. Our product offering has grown from just a Straight Bourbon Whiskey, to offering merchandise like t-shirts and glasses, as well as three more rye whiskeys.
